I work as a Senior Applications Specialist at the University Of Auckland. I primarily develop and deliver IT Applications Solutions for the Faculty of Science. I also run the Auckland Chapter of the New Zealand Python User Group, organising bi-monthly meetups for Python programming enthusiasts.
I studied Computer Science and Environmental Science at the University, and I am pleased to see this TAIAO Community come together and share innovation in the single-most important sector where AI is applied. I am particularly interested in Marine Ecosystems, and tackling Biodiversity loss.
Let’s use all the tools at hand to drive the betterment of our ecosystems.

Patrick Nicholas, I work for Te Wananga o Tauranga Moana, Te Wharekura o Tauranga Moana and Te Kura Kaupapa Maori o Te Kura Kokiri. The project I am working on is establishing an AI and Environmental School in Tauranga. Present projects were are looking at are predator free islands, oyster reefs for erosion prevention and to combat climate change and seaweed for medicine. In AI we are focusing on chat boxes and are interested in programing and automatic chatbots. We are also working with generative AI blockchain and cryptocurrency.
